Now a days we are using high speed internet connection compare to those days like 3 to 4 years ago.But still our internet connection speed is slow.We face slow downloading speed,Buffering in online videos and slow surfing etc.Why this happens and what is solution to this problem?Let me tell you and their solutions.
There are many reasons of slow wifi speed but some of major reasons are listed Below.
1.One of the most common reason is that your Wifi password is not secure.You and your neighbour are using same wifi.
2.You are using old router, Having internal antenna.
3.You are using old equipment like 802.11/a/b/g router and wifi adapter.
4.Using old 2.4 Ghz signal spectrum.
5.Your router has only one antenna.
6.Router placement is not good.
7.Your router channel is setted on lower interface.
8.Your router's enabled on Qos packet sheduler at 20 or more percentage.
How Can I Improve My Wi-Fi Speed.
So if you answer above question is yes then you have to do following things.
Solution 1
The first and the most obvious reason of slow internet is that your neighbours are using your wifi.You need to change your wifi password.I have also posted an article about changing PTCL wifi password.Read it for more support.
If you are using old equipment like 54 Mbps 802.11/a/b/g router and 2.4 Ghz spectrum you need to change it.Although your router is saying that it is providing 54Mbps but in practicle life it is not.When data is shared with all users it will divide and slow down speed of your connection.
The soloution of this problem is to replace 54Mbps router with 100Mbps router.Many routers are available in 300Mbps 433Mbps speed but 100Mbps is enough.Keep in mind if you are using 100Mbps router you also have compatible adapter connected to your laptop or computer.
Solution 3
As i mentioned that if you are using 100Mbps router then you also need compatible adapter to support this router.If you don't have such advance adapter in you computer or laptop you have yo buy it.
Solution 4
Using old signal spectrum 2.4 Ghz is also about using old router.You need to buy a nae and advanced router to kill limited signal spectrum.
Solution 5
If your router has one antenna or it will also effect the speed of wifi.Make sure that you buy a router with 2 antennas.
Solution 6
Your router placement has vital rolr in your internet speed.If your router is placed in such place near microwave oven,Television,Refrigerator or 2.4Ghz cordless phone it will distrube spectrum of will.Make sure that all these electronics are far away from your router.
Solution 7
Make sure that in your router channel is setted on auto or setted on number used by very few devices nearby you.
Solution 8
Last but not least is that your router is enabled Qos packet Scheduler and is setted on 20 or more percentage.First you need to go to your router setting and make sure Qos packed scheduler is enabled.Type 192.168.10.1 or 192.168.1.1 in adress bar to access router setting.Type admin and password.Now hit advanced option on left side you will see Quality of service option.Hit on it and enable Qos. Now go to gpedit.msc>ComputerConfiguration>Administrative Template>Network>Qos packet scheduler.Double click on Qos packet scheduler it will show that your Limit Reservable Bandwidth is not configured.By double clicking it will open a new window here click on enable option and change bandwidth limit % to 0.Click apply and restart your computer.
